Principal's Corner

Dear parents,

This week I was reminded again of how precious life is. I sat at the funeral of Doug Ford and marveled at the strength of the three girls he left behind and contemplated the emptiness that his widow must feel. We come together as a school/parish community to offer condolence, friendship, and support to all of our families in times like this, but we’ll never be able to replace the hole that has been left in their existence.

It’s a wake up call to me to appreciate all that I have. To recognize the true sense of community we have here to support each other. To be sure to express gratitude to all those special people who give so much to make this school community a true model of the Catholic faith. To fully appreciate the gift that is every moment I get to spend with one of my children. To give full attention to my relationships with my wife, my sisters, and my parents. It is too often, too easy, to take all of these things for granted. By all accounts, Doug lived his life the right way. In his passing, he shines one more time as an example of how we can better live our lives.

Happy Mother’s Day!

Faithfully,
Chris Kelly
