VOLUNTEERING, FINGERPRINTING AND CHILD PROTECTION POLICY  

STEP 1: Fill out the ARCHDIOCESE VOLUNTEER APPLICATION.

STEP 2: Log on and register at VIRTUS

1. Go to WWW.VIRTUS.ORG
2. Click on the word REGISTRATION that is in yellow on the left hand side of the Virtus online page.
3. If you are searching for a session to attend, click on VIEW A LIST OF SESSIONS. (If you know the session you want to attend, click on BEGIN THE REGISTRATION PROCESS instead and continue on to create a user name and password.)
4. Click on the down arrow to the right of the SELECT YOUR ORGANIZATION. Scroll down the drop down menu until you find WASHINGTON, DC (ARCHDIOCESE).Click on SELECT.
5. After reviewing the list of sessions, click on START REGISTRATION. 
6. Create a User ID and Password. Click on CONTINUE.
7. Complete the registration screens.
8. When you get to the screen that asks if you have ALREADY ATTENDED A PROTECTING GOD'S CHILDREN SESSION, click NO if you have not attended and select the session you want to attend. If you have attended, click YES and select the session you attended and complete the rest of the registration process. 

STEP 3: Contact the Office of Employment and Volunteer Services for Fingerprinting

1. Call 301-853-5363 or go online to www.adw.org/employment/fingerprint.asp
2. Bring the following documents to your fingerprinting appointment 
   1. CRIMINAL BACKGROUND AUTHORIZATION
   2. Check or money order made payable to CJIS (volunteer $33.25, Employee $37.25)
   3. Valid photo ID

STEP 4: Read the CHILD PROTECTION HANDBOOK. 

STEP 5: Print and sign the POLICY STATEMENT. 

STEP 6: Return the completed application and the policy statement to Colleen Molloy, Admissions Director.
